Garden paths
It is worth starting with types of paths and their functionality. Typically, four types of paths are popular: from concrete, from woody cuts, from stone, from paving stones. Cases of the performance of garden paths by combining are not uncommon. Concrete paths, as a rule, are very durable. Their service life is measured by tens of years. While the paths made of woody saws are very short -lived. The tree is subject to decay and quickly spoils the appearance. Stone paths are not very convenient for walking and transportation on a wheelbarrow of any cargo. Paths made of paving stones in this regard are a little better than the rest, but they clearly lose in price. Making a path made of stone is much cheaper. The choice of material entirely depends on the owner of the cottage and its needs.
Before starting work on laying garden paths, you should plan the routes as thoroughly as possible, which should provide the tracks. It is also necessary to take into account the width of future “highways”. There should be about 45 cm of paths per person. That is, if you need to move together, near each other, then the path should be about a meter wide. The track from the entrance to the site to the dacha door should be made straight, since this path should be overcome faster. But in the garden you can experiment a little and make the paths with winding.
After drawing up a plan for the construction of paths, it is necessary to mark them in the garden and dig a small pit at the site of the future road. Small crushed stone falls asleep into the pit, which is necessary for water resistance. Then the paving stones laid. It is necessary to remember several rules, with independent construction. The path should rise slightly above the general level of the earth around. It’s all about the water, from which such paths are being built. If you make the track on a flush with the ground or below the level, then the rainwater will accumulate on it. Trenches are necessary only for rocky and concrete paths, for wooden they are not needed. Wooden saws simply lay in the selected direction, after processing. It is necessary to process a tree, as this will slightly lengthen its service life. Most often treated with antifungal solution and varnish, from the effect of moisture.
There are a large number of different types of paths both on materials and execution. Implementation is limited only by the fantasy of the author. If desired, the track can be made even from glass bottles. The most important thing is that such paths will brighten up a person in a weekend at their favorite cottage. And neither bad weather, nor a bad mood will be able to upset the owner, especially if looking at the paths that he did, he will understand how great it is to create something with his own hands.
