In November of this year, at the International Motor Show in Los Angeles, the Bavarian concern Volkswagen is going to conduct a premiere of the conceptual version of the new generation Beetle. When creating a car, the designers intend to pay special attention to dynamics and handling, and retro-style in design will give way to more modern trends.
The novelty will be collected on an improved front -wheel drive platform with an extended rut and a longer wheelbase. In the suspension on the front axle, it is supposed to use the usual “MacPherson”, and on the back – a beam. The most powerful BEETLE option, which will probably be equipped with a two -liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 210 horsepower, will have a “multi -leaf” instead of a beam, which will positively affect controllability.
The new generation VW Beetle power will offer gasoline 1.4-2.0-liter units with direct fuel injection and turbine, capable of developing 105 to 210 horsepower. In the range of diesel engines- 1.6- and 2.0-liter engines with a capacity of 105 to 140 horsepower. A little later, the hatchback will receive a hybrid power plant, which will consist of a 150-horsepower gasoline engine with a volume of 1.4 liters and an electric motor with a capacity of 27 horsepower forces.
Judging by the photo Volkswagen Beetle, some features of the car design will be adopted from the Ragster concept car, presented five years ago. It is assumed that the machine will have the contours of the roof similar to the prototype, but the windshield of the serial version of the Beetle will be located at a smaller angle. Round optics of headlight and rear headlights performed in retro-style will be preserved in the new design. Perhaps the novelty will have a completely new salon (it is not ruled out that it will be in the style in the Golf VI and Polo style, a more spacious trunk – approximately 250 liters and a solid set of options to individualize the machine.
