The Bogdan Ukrainian Corporation well-known today was originally created on the basis of a small factory in Lutsk, the plan of the creation of which was born in the government of Ukraine, who was then one of the republics of the Soviet Union, back in 1951. At first, the company was simply a production partner of the Gorky Automobile Plant and ensured the supply of components.
However, back in the 50s, the plant mastered the production of several new types of products, including refrigerators, bodies for cars and other models of equipment. Only in 1965 in Lutsk the first car was released in Lutsk. However, this was just a modification of the well-known “Cossack”, ZAZ-969V. However, this was enough to rename the machine -building plant into a car. By the 70th, the plant mastered the production of an all-wheel drive car based on Zaporozhets. The most popular was the LoAZ-969M model-an unusual compact all-terrain vehicle.
The 90s, when the USSR was no longer, were characteristic of dramatic vicissitudes. They ended only after the privatization of the enterprise in 2000. The plant moved to the “screwdriver” assembly of the UAZ M VAZ cars. In the same period of time, production began to develop rapidly, and soon the company mastered the production of South Korean trucks, Hyundai HD and Kia KA2700. At the same time, the pace of production of VAZ models.
The first Bogdan car appeared in 2005, when the corporation of the same name was created on the basis of the Lutsk Automobile Plant. The Ukrainian government took part in the creation of a new enterprise. Today, “Bogdan” unites many plants on which a variety of models of automotive equipment are produced, including trolleybuses and buses. Bogdan Motors became the largest in the CIS by a manufacturer of automotive equipment.
