The cooperation of the two giants of the Mercedes-Benz and McLaren automotive industry gave the world several truly chic sports cars. But everything someday ends, so this famous tandem broke up, and in parting they released a limited advanced version of the Slr sports coupe under the name Mercedes Slr McLaren Stirling Moss. The car was so named in honor of the racer of the last century by Serterling Moss, who not only won the races, while driving the silver arrow of 300SLR, but also set a new record, which no one was still able to break through. The new car does not belong to the class of coupe or relatives. This is a speedster. He is able to develop speeds up to 350 km/h, and reaches a “hundred” in three and a half seconds. This is the most reactive car of them all that have ever been released by the Mercedes-Benz and McLaren tandem. A speedster is a car without a roof, it does not have wind and side glasses. Outwardly the car is very reminiscent of a racing. He has a very long front part and a very short rear. And under the hood there is a 5.5-liter gasoline engine AMG V8 Biturbo with an electronic fuel injection system. The brake system from ventilated perforated ceramic brake discs can fully cope with the task set before it. There is a climate control in the sports car so as not to burn with hot air, but there is no audio system so that the driver can enjoy the roar of a powerful motor, and nothing distracted him from this. There is a button on the steering wheel, with which you can adjust the position of the spoiler at the back. Near the automatic transmission is an engraving in the form of an autograph of a great racer. The thresholds of Stirling Moss are tall and quite wide, and the bottom is completely smooth and consists of carbon sheets. Thus, the developers took care of aerodynamics. To get into the car, you need to make some efforts. This is very reminiscent of the device of a racing car. There are wide volumetric exhaust pipes on the sides of the machine.
Mercedes Slr McLaren Stirling Moss was presented at the Auto Show in the action in the winter of 2009. Its release was limited by the amount of 75 copies.
