Cadillac directed the 2017 CTS prototype to Europe for testing, but now it has a little less camouflage. This photograph gives us an even better view of the design of a new generation of luxurious CTS sedan.
Earlier 2017 Cadillac CTS already fell into the camera lens, but it was dressed in a denser camouflage. Although the next generation will be devoid of chromium, the front part received a large grille of the radiator, which switched to this model from the Ciel concept, as well as LED running lights, and the rear bumper equipped with a pair of integrated rectangular exhaust pipes.
Although Cadillac engineers tried to make a car like a compartment, with a careful examination it is clear that this is a CTS sedan. Its rear window, however, has a much shorter slope than in the current generation of the sedan. This was done, first of all, not for aesthetic reasons, but to give the new CTS more aerodynamics to help reduce fuel consumption.
The car can also boast of Brembo brakes. Cadillac has previously announced that 2015 and 2016 ATS XTS models will receive high -performance Brembo brake calipers made in Michigan.
2017 Cadillac CTS will be based on the rear-wheel drive platform, so it will increase slightly in size and will compete with such cars as the BMW 5 series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. This means that the new 2016 ATS will challenge the BMW of the 3rd series and Mercedes C-Class instead of the current CTS.
2017 Cadillac CTS, most likely, will receive a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 270 liters. With. This will be the first time when the CTS model will be made with a 4-cylinder engine. The alternative option should be the ubiquitous 3.The 6-liter V6 engine from the General Motors with direct fuel injection and power, at least 318 liters. With. Cadillac also stated that he was working on a twin-turbo version of the V6 engine for the top versions of the new CTS, but so far there are no details about it.
All safety systems and security functions that were debuted for 2016 ATS and XTS will also be offered on the new CTS. This list includes a warning system when changing the strip, seats that vibrate to warn about the dangers of oncoming traffic, adaptive cruise control and automatic braking system.
2017 Cadillac CTS, as expected, will go into production in Michigan in September 2016, which means that it will most likely debut at the beginning of next year.
