Xiaomi has unveiled its new flagship camera phone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. It has a redesigned design, an updated camera with a 200-megapixel periscope, and top-end hardware.
Externally, it remains recognizable, but the camera block has changed noticeably: now there are three sensors in the bottom row, and a massive periscope rises above them. Xiaomi also announced two two-color versions of the case in the style of Leica cameras.
The device is equipped with a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200 × 1440 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate of 1–120 Hz, and a brightness of up to 3,200 nits. The screen is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0. The device is based on the eight-core Snapdragon 8 Elite with the Adreno 830 graphics accelerator. The amount of LPDDR5X RAM is 12 or 16 GB, and the permanent UFS 4.0 type is from 256 GB to 1 TB.
The main camera includes four sensors: a 50-megapixel main module with an inch Sony LYT-900 sensor and optical stabilization, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with three-fold optical zoom and macro support, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with autofocus, and a 200-megapixel periscope Samsung ISOCELL HP9 (1 ÷ 1.4 inches), providing 8.6-fold zoom. Lossless zoom of 200 and 400 mm and optical stabilization are supported, the camera block is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The cameras were configured jointly with Leica.
Xiaomi compared the new product with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, stating that the cooling system in their device works more efficiently. Three T1 chips are responsible for the stability of the connection. The global version received an eSIM, but the battery in it is slightly smaller – 5,410 mAh versus 6,000 mAh in the Chinese version. The battery supports wired 90-watt charging, wireless 80-watt and reverse 18-watt charging.
