Modern technologies of finishing materials today do not cease to surprise with their sophisticated fantasies and reliability of coatings. So, today it became fashionable instead of gluing tiles or tiles in the bathroom or in the kitchen on the site of the kitchen apron, finish the walls with decorative plaster with a glossy surface.
Venetian plaster is an imitation of marble. For the manufacture of such plaster, you will need certain components of its composition, tools and knowledge about applying to the surface and its operational characteristics.
The mixture “Venetian”
To make a mixture, the desired color and textures for marble decorative coating, you can use three options for solving this issue:
Know the recipe by which marble “flour” or dust is silt of quartz, malachite or other stone, gash -lime and dyes are mixed.
Buy a finished mixture and, according to the instructions, stir it with water.
Buy a finished mixture, mix it with water according to the instructions, and then add the dyes you need to it.
Polishing wax and machine
The most important secret in this creative business is the wax, which is applied from above by the “Venetian”. After the wax freezes it with a polishing machine.
Work tools
In order to make a plaster, apply it correctly on the wall, polish and draw the veins you will need the following tools:
spatulas of different sizes;
roller;
sponge;
trowel;
containers for the mixture and water;
nozzle for a polishing machine, like the machine itself (an ordinary grinder with polishing nozzles);
Drill nozzle to mix plaster, like a mixer;
half a half or graters;
rule;
trowel;
Vetosh.
Application of Venetian plaster
Be sure to prepare the surface. “Venetian” does not tolerate bumps. More precisely, she “suffers”, but will look very ugly. All peeling old stained surfaces should be cleaned from paint, as well as from pieces of old wallpaper and other garbage.
Then the surface of the walls, floor or ceiling should be plastered by ordinary or gypsum plaster where there are many cracks, cracks, chips and other deformations.
The preparatory surface of the wall is aligned with graters so that there are no traces of applying the working solution with a spatula.
After the aligned and prepared surface dries well, plaster is applied with wave or rounded movements. In general, you can experiment and apply by any movements, you will see that it will turn out.
The plaster is allowed to dry, it is poured into 180 “skin” and after that there are veins with a water -based tint and the thinnest brush (zero).
The next step uses airbrush for staining the surface. While the veins can go through in some places to simulate dilapidation.
Then the wax is applied in a preheated form, which is also allowed to freeze. Then the surface is polished with a polishing machine, and in some places the veins are adjusted with a brush.
The last stage is just slightly erase the dust from the surface of the rag.
How the Venetian plaster in action “behaves”
Such plaster can be applied not only to gypsum, cement, but also on plastic, wood, concrete and brick. The service life of imitation of marble is about 15 years, which is undoubtedly a big plus. In addition, there are no seams, as there are no wallpaper, the surface is extremely smooth and even. The peculiarity of the “Venetian” is that over time it absorbs carbon more and more, so it forms a solid and stable film. The texture can be any that is convenient for selection. The disadvantage is considered to be a high price, but the operational terms and reliability quite justify it.
